Old Friends

Two weeks since my last post! Can't believe it... It has been a busy couple of weeks and THE highlight of these last couple of weeks was having the opportunity to meet with an old friend from years back.

Alan needed to come to the left (er, west) coast for family business and was able to schedule some time to stop by and spend some quality time with us. And what quality time it was! Some good food, a few beers, some laughs and a day-trip spent in our beloved Sierra Nevada mountains doing some much-needed photography. Thanks for that Alan!

Brings to mind many thoughts about old friends... As you get older, you realize more and more what treasures old friends really are... With all the ups and downs and ins and outs of daily/weekly/monthly/yearly life you sometimes don't foster friendships the way you should... If you are lucky and work at it, new friends can become long-term old friends; and, if you are very lucky, you get to have great people for friends.

Just a few melancholy thoughts on this 2nd day of a new month...
